Hope so what a wonderful idea.
Yeah I think we enough water, if people all know to saving water from now. Sadly because I know so many people in my country still wasting water day by day. And too many people on another side of the world is suffered from lacking of clean water for life.
Moele,No need to worry about that. There is plenty of fresh water on this planet. If just half the daily flow of any one of the ten largest rivers in the world could be diverted to where it is needed, there would have been enough water for every person on this planet.
Took folk a long time to catch on but yes enough water for them and us. Trees on busy streets take in all bad fumes too so clean the air.
Exred the street trees in the UK are London Plains as these trees shed some of their bark each year so the bark which has the breathing holes blocked with pollution comes off and new bark which can breath is on the top.
Thank you so much for all your answers
One and a half acres of forest is cut down every second. Planting trees will not cause water shortage, deforestation will. When the forest goes people will as well, but then we're a suicidal bunch and keep on logging
What Meta said The Rainforests of South America have been referred to as the Lungs Of Our Planet. We're ripping out our lungs...https://youtu.be/3HusBCLws0QMeta mentioned losing 1 1/2 acres/second.Another way of putting it - the area of France every five years. It's not just the Rainforests of South America.Trees are being lost everywhere. The only country that had more trees at the end of the 20th Century than at its beginning was Israel.Trees are the land lungs.Ocean phytoplankton account for 1/2 of Earth's oxygenation, producing oxygen for marine life.Phytoplankton has decreased by about 40% - 1/5 of Earth's total(!) oxygen production capacity.https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/phytoplankton-population/Humans - a species clever enough to destroy a planet and crazy enough to do it.How it will end. Trees don't consume water, they simply borrow it for a while. Every drop of water that a tree sucks out of the ground, it gives back through its leaves.
What Oob said Also - shade from trees keeps the ground cool & slows evaporation of water.
Enough water for trees? Yes, there's plenty, and that's where trees generally grow. Where there's water. Nature ain't stupid. People are stupid.
inthecountryside, yep that's true too
WHY Near Term Human Extinction is Inevitable...https://youtu.be/MsawE78257Y"...a fire in a mad house."
Probably not.Once upon a time there were many more trees and far less people and there was more freshwater than available now.Call me paranoid, I smell a trend.
