When I cook them, I remove the whitish part. That stinks like pee. Then I just wash it well and pat dry then I put some slices of ginger in the frying pan with just very slight oil. Here in Japan I don't use soy sauce to test. I use tsuyu instead. For human consumption due to my subhuman palate. As someone says before, why do you think sausages and hotdog are delicious? Somehow the innards are being use. Around 50 yrs ago, market vendors gave them away for free just like some innards. Now , they are being sold and not that cheap.
I mean to taste.
Mmm can remember those from when I was a kid glad now I like fish ^
My Venezuelan girlfriend in Macau feeds her two dogs chicken liver and gizzards. Her dogs have beautiful black shiny coat
So you don't have steak and kidney pies in Murka? Can't believe a whole nation is deprived of that.
I don't think I've ever had it. But, I recall hearing something about kidney stew.Perhaps in British literature. So, while you can probably delete the salt & pepper for the dogs, perhaps this will be helpful to you;https://www.cooks.com/recipe/w5i945t/kidney-stew.html
In America Kidneys are not popular so they are very cheap. I'm not sure I can get past the smell though. I did make it into like a stew for the dogs but hesitated to taste it myself. I know I've heard of kidney pie in literature. It stinks though. I also buy chicken gizzards, livers and hearts for the dogs but they have to eat veggies too.Still not sure what to do about the smell. I swear kidney cooking smells like one is cooking a pot of farts.
Maybe you can boil them with Greg8's old socks...
In America we eat kidneys, kidney pot pie, etc., so I don't understand why you pretend we don't.That said I thin the tastiest are the condemned prisoner kidneys China sell on the net. Guaranteed to still be fresh when delivered. Fried in butter, mmmmm, good.
I love eating kidney/lambs fry & sheeps brains
Probably sliced and simmered in butter but that might be too rich for the dogs. For them, chopped small and cooked with rice? I can't eat kidneys on their own but I do love steak and kidney pie. I didn't make it often, preferred to buy it, but they don't have them in Spain, and didn't have them in Scotland. Very English. You want a really stinky cheap food that dogs love, trying boiling up a stomach lining, I have a friend who had 6 big dogs and did a bovine stomach a week, the smell never completely went away. Ever.
Biff that sounds like a load of old tripe
That kidney cooking or natural smell reeks vomit shite smell an taste As a child growing up.Respect taughtEat what your givin without a sound I feed plants when fed kidneys of any kind Lucky I can rid at the appropriate moment
I prefer liver to kidneys. Kidneys have a odd taste on its own. Steak and kidney pie. That is what I want for breakfast tomorrow. Hope the dogs enjoyed it.
The dogs loved it. (I almost wish they didn't) I still say Kidney is not popular in America hence why it is so cheap. Of course there are some people that eat it after all America is a Heinz 57 for the world. Kidney is not popular enough here to be sold "commonly" in the stores and I've NEVER seen it on a restaurant menu and I've been to lots of restaurants on both sides of this country.I know I can't give the pooches too much at one time but they have a variety of meats, organs and veggies. The little Chi loves fruits too but Lucy not so much. I think Lucy is enjoying being weaned off canned dog food for Fay's dog food. Lucky little dogs. I never dreamed I would cook special for the dogs. Now liver I do like but again I have to cook my differently than the dogs because I love it smothered in onions and the dogs can't have onions.I'm a bit surprised my dogs like quinoa though. I can't find rice in my house but I had 3 or 4 different kinds of Quinoa. YUMMM
I married a woman whose family was from England a number of years ago , I had never heard if kidney stew and wished I hadn't , but they ate such as a normal English dish , let the dogs have it , I don't find it something humans should eat . studecar
Nothing wrong with eating kidneys, liver or steak. Delicious. The first thing you eat is the liver of a kill when hunting. Fried on red hot coals in the veld.
Sorry but eating another's organ That's sick I'd rather eat wood
My own Dad tortured me with dat food too long Bless his soul
Ugh - the smell sounds so disgusting that kidneys would be the last thing I'd be cooking, for pets or myself.
