I'm today one day unemployed (by suprise) and i'm already milking the system?My company and i were not a match. I went to work there for 6 years.We had an indefinite contract, and they decide to break it up without notice. It is about a month of break up per year worked. If i quitted then i would have had to stay an additional 3 months.I think i did a good job there, i would have worked another 4 months. Before the weekend they asked me a scenario where i wanted to go. I was already asking for a training, new job prospect internally, they couldn't offer it. and i said the night and weekend work was giving problems. I have a 6 year old where i will get soon 2/3 custody off.I said the scenario, and on the meeting of debating it, became a mutual sacking.So Christmas no work or babysits. and the company is happy to fill my gap as soon as possible, next guy is lined up. And no times and money wasted on my training. They have a weird hiring policy. all departments are capped, so if they want to hire someone, retire/fire someone.So me changing departments, would be hiring a new of my job, and losing someone in another department to get me. We can't swap because i have a set of skills- background, only few have.
I am sorry that happened to you just before xmas too.Look for new job sharpish then you will still have lump sum in the bankWishing you luck

I think it was your choice not to compromise !!! Go ahead and i know you are not like me who has never worked anywhere, so you are respected in this world and you are a decision maker, try try try
Here in Ireland Leno we get plenty from all parts of the world moving here for no other reason but milk our welfare system... They begin by getting a job to put up enough stamps that will entitle them to claim welfare should they become unemployed. Once they have enough stamps up, these blow ins give reasons to be fired.. to leave employment without good reason disqualifies welfare assistance.From what I know of you through your blogs/posts and being aware you have a little girl, you don't strike me as being irresponsible, so I gathered you had good reason without saying... reasons why I replied to you in my first comment as I did.Your following comment kinda threw me a little because it came across to me you were no better then the blow ins I've mentioned, reasons why I said what I did ... But I see now I am wrong I don't fully understand why they fired you? you need hours/shifts to work round the caring/minding of your daughter and they would not accommodate you? like I've said I don't rightly understand.Anyways, good luck in keeping your head above water and hopefully something will turn up sooner then later...
Itchy. that sort of apology is accepted.Being responsible means i know my rights and duties.Those 7 months was a right. those 9 months is a responsibility. (i have a killer mortgage)I'll try to explain the history.In 2013 i offended Jan in a calculation.In 2013 i offended Jan (unknowingly till last week) about his employee that nearly drowned when he was working and 7 months after i made suddenly drama about it)I send a department wide mail that i'm offended that there was no mail, report or lessons learned of a case where somebody became medical unsuitable for work for more than 7 months and by accident was saved.In january Jan promoted to my manager.... I tried to change departments already.In my team arrived in january a russian that thought he was perfect, and took shortcuts everywhere and disregarded my direct order.My assistent above him started advising him. So he rioted. till he nearly got final warning.My other assistent start feeling the pressure, because he was being held accountable for his mistakes a bit more last months.The two assistents? - One started making up rules, claimed they were mine and enraged my crew.The other one made whatsapp group and twisted sentences of me from past 2,5 years to enrage the crew more.I asked my manager Jan to mediate.He pushed them to file a complaint. (april)They made a very serious complaint.I was removed and investigated for 3 months. they did interviews and surveys. external company.End of June the report came in.It showed i should be getting a small leadership course and tighten control on the assistants. one week job.The assistants rioted when being informed of their part.i requested a break till august for a career change.first week of july my boss tried to push me to take another of his department job. with lies, threats and intimidations. I was to blame of everything.I took a break, checked it out, called shenanigans. HR checked and agreed on me.(15 hour a week job, for a 3 month project and the other hours would be filled by projects of my manager, no title, no job description, only him evaluating)There followed another meeting end of august, i told internal safety of manager his harassment towards me (no response).... I requested a procedure break till mid octobre, but their meeting report didn't mention that. it did mention: i need a leadership course, internal job change, an external carreer planning, mediation sessions between the assistants and me, plus me still working full time. done by beginning of octobre.I took sick, because i was sick. till 6 october. (small 3 weeks)Manager didn't expect me back soon. But i was back. i took some holiday to not work full time.6 weeks nobody said a word. not me, not HR, not the manager, not welfare, not prevention, no courses.Mid novembre i get a mail manager decided to continue my removal till 7 january 2020.So no reinstatement planned in 2018. punished for being innocent 14 months longer.I restarted the harassment claim. Two days later i get the first signatures for that, but please wait a few days.Internal safety talks to me friday, 2 hours to explain every delay, to clear my manager his name, and put the blame to the 2 lying assistants, and seriously stating, the crew was harassed with rules i didn't even know they existed.I was a bad team leader because i never explained my positions with the assistants visually agreeing, which i disproved (mails were sent in february and we stood there as a team (in my eyes))Internal safety got wind of the complaint and asked me to wait 2 days to make a department change offer, planned me free from work.I made the scenario of changing departments like they requested and would check.During that meeting they told me i would be fired, already 8 months of hassle was too much. But i was innocent. They would pay me contract-breach and don't come back to work.
Bloody company never could handle me.Thanks to me they have a yearly fire drill.when i was there they didn't do it for +7 years.1600 employees, 10 locations, at least 20 other companies in your buildings, and no clue about that.I needed to push for 2 years to get a first one.Nobody knew the sound, or if the sound even worked.Before i came, they once had a fire alarm, they went outside, went inside and checked all, silenced alarm, went to work, 10 hours next team comes and complains about the smell, start searching find nothing, 6 hours later, new alarm zone, fire brigade is finally called, they found out the isolation in between walls is burning, building 24 h out of service, double walls pulled down, no lessons learned, just a repair, ...After a year of lot of fire drills i had to mail all the other people to tell them any improvements.Our safety department would stand at the door and note the errors, and be happy it were the same errors as last week. No lessons learned. no feedback. no improvement. (see you next week or next year)So 6 weeks in a row doing the same exercise, have 6 times the same notes and remarks and think you did a good job noting.They felt threatened and i overstepped boundaries, when i mailed department wide my 3 lessons learned.next drill they had 5 less remarks....Safety , they never got the idea to learn a lesson.Thanks to me everybody with a job with a lifejacket, has to have life jacket training. and jump about 5 times in the pool with the jacket. loose and fixed and such. best training result i ever saw.I pushed the company to have a hazardous gas guideline. and i pushed the company to send it to everybody one year later because they made the checklist but kept it locally at the legal department. we are the 2nd chemical cluster in the world.I once had a guy in a gas cloud, 2 hours later they drew his blood and checked it. 10 days later i complained that they never informed him about it. (the company assumed the doctor would have informed him if it was bad and that he knew, no answer was positive for him)I never accepted this company their lack of standards.They never accepted where i would hit next.And Jan really doesn't like being wrong
